A citadel is the most fortified part of a city or town. It can be a castle, fortress, or fortified center. The term comes from the word "city" and means "little city." Citadels were built as defensive cores for cities.
2008: Celtic Origin Theory
In 2008, John T. Koch and Barry Cunliffe proposed a theory attributing the origins of the Celts to the Castro culture of the first millennium BC in northwestern Portugal and Spain.
