Deadpool

Deadpool, created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, debuted in Marvel Comics' New Mutants #98. Initially a supervillain opposing the New Mutants and X-Force, he evolved into an antihero. Deadpool is the alter ego of Wade Wilson, a disfigured Canadian mercenary. He possesses remarkable regenerative healing abilities.

December 1990: First Appearance in New Mutants #98

In December 1990, Deadpool, created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, made his first appearance as a supervillain in New Mutants #98. The character is the alter ego of Wade Wilson, a Canadian mercenary with regenerative abilities.

1991: First Appearance in The New Mutants #98

In December 2013, Deadpool was confirmed as being pansexual by Deadpool writer Gerry Duggan via Twitter. The post on Twitter has since been deleted.

2013: Deadpool Kills Deadpool

In 2013, Wadey Wilson, the Ultimate Marvel version of Deadpool, appeared in Deadpool Kills Deadpool. He was a member of the Evil Deadpool Corps, led by Dreadpool, to exterminate alternate versions of Deadpool and was later killed by the mainstream Deadpool in issue #4.

2014: Madcap Explained

In 2014, Deadpool vol. 3 Annual #1 retroactively explained that the second voice in Deadpool's head belonged to Madcap.

2014: IGN and Empire Rankings

In 2014, Deadpool was ranked 31st in IGN's "Top 100 Comic Book Heroes" list and 45th in Empire's "50 Greatest Comic Book Characters" list.

2016: Deadpool Vol. 4 Begins & Rise in Popularity

In 2016, Deadpool Vol. 4 began. Deadpool's popularity increased after Solo impersonated him. He saved an ambassador in Washington, D.C., improving public opinion and he formed the Mercs for Money to extend his reach.
