"Aladdin" is a famous folk tale from the Middle East, widely recognized as part of "The Book of One Thousand and One Nights," although it wasn't originally included in the text. It was later introduced by Antoine Galland, a Frenchman who based it on a folk tale he heard from Hanna Diyab, a Syrian Maronite storyteller.
