Ludvig Åberg was born in Eslöv, Sweden, on October 31, 1999, to parents Mia and Johan. He has an elder sister named Linnea.
In 2016, Åberg was awarded the Annika Sörenstam Trophy after winning the Swedish Teen Tour Order of Merit.
In 2017, Åberg was the individual leader at the European Boys' Team Championship and won the Fairhaven Trophy.
In 2019, Åberg was runner-up at the African Amateur Stroke Play Championship and a member of the winning Swedish team at the European Amateur Team Championship. He also started college at Texas Tech University and won the Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic.
In 2020, after the collegiate season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Åberg won the Katrineholm Open and the Barsebäck Resort Masters on the Swedish Golf Tour. He also represented the International Team at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup, achieving a 4–0 record.
In February 2021, Åberg won the Jones Cup Invitational.
In 2022, Ludvig Åberg topped the 2022-23 PGA Tour University rankings, securing membership on the tour.
In June 2023, Åberg made his professional debut at the RBC Canadian Open on the PGA Tour, finishing in a tie for 25th place.
In June 2023, Åberg turned professional, ending his amateur career ranked number one on the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
On September 4, 2023, Åberg was selected for Team Europe at the 2023 Ryder Cup by captain Luke Donald. Europe won the event 16 1/2–11 1/2
Åberg started 2023 outside 3000th in world ranking.
In November 2024, Åberg moved into a house in Ponte Vedra, Florida, with his girlfriend Olivia Peet, who played tennis at Texas Tech University.
At the start of the 2024 season, Åberg was in solo-second place at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The tournament was called off due to inclement weather, and Clark was declared the winner.
In 2023, Åberg secured exempt status on the PGA Tour through the 2024 season by finishing on top of the 2022–23 PGA Tour University rankings.
In 2024, Åberg made his major championship debut at the Masters Tournament, finishing solo second. He moved to a career-best number six on the Official World Golf Ranking. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship but finished tied-12th at the U.S. Open.
In February 2025, Åberg won the Genesis Invitational and earned $4 million. At the 2025 Masters Tournament, he tumbled out of contention after struggling on the final two holes.
