Bala Cynwyd is a census-designated place within Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania, situated on the Philadelphia Main Line, bordering Philadelphia. Originally two towns, Bala and Cynwyd, it merged due to the shared Bala Cynwyd U.S. Post Office (ZIP Code 19004). The combined population was 9,285 as of the 2020 census. While historically known as Bala-Cynwyd, Bala and Cynwyd are served by separate stations on SEPTA's Cynwyd Line.
