Colby Grant Thomas is a professional baseball outfielder. He currently plays for the Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB).

In 2019, during his senior year at Valdosta High School, Colby Thomas showcased impressive baseball skills with a .416 batting average, 13 home runs, 45 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 37th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft but chose not to sign, opting to play college baseball at Mercer University instead.
In 2020, Colby Thomas played 16 games as a freshman for Mercer University, batting .333 with five home runs and 18 RBIs, before the season was cancelled.
In 2021, as a sophomore, Colby Thomas played 53 games for Mercer University, hitting .247 with ten home runs and 37 RBIs. He also played collegiate summer baseball in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Bourne Braves, batting .228 with four home runs over 29 games.
In 2022, Colby Thomas batted .325 with 17 home runs and 45 RBIs over 42 games during his junior year at Mercer University, but his season ended early due to a shoulder injury. Following the season's end, he committed to transfer to the University of Florida.
In 2022, Colby Thomas was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the third round (95th overall) of the Major League Baseball draft and signed with the team.
In 2023, Colby Thomas made his professional debut with the Single-A Stockton Ports and was later promoted to the High-A Lansing Lugnuts in early July. Across 126 games, he achieved a slash line of .286/.351/.493 with 18 home runs, 82 RBIs, 39 doubles, and 25 stolen bases.
In 2024, Colby Thomas began the season with the Double-A Midland RockHounds and was promoted to the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators in mid-June. Over 132 games between the two affiliates, he hit .277 with 31 home runs, 92 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases. During the offseason, he represented Team USA in the Premier 12 Tournament.
On June 30, 2025, Colby Thomas was added to the 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time. He made his MLB debut as a pinch-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field.
