History of Hung Cao in Timeline
Hung Cao is a former U.S. Navy officer and Republican politician. Serving in the Navy from 1989 to 2021, Cao transitioned to politics, running for U.S. Representative in Virginia's 10th congressional district in 2022 and securing the Republican nomination for Virginia's 2024 U.S. Senate election. In February 2025, Cao was nominated by President Donald Trump for the position of United States Under Secretary of the Navy, a role that necessitates Senate confirmation.
