1982: Steve Achelis Starts Computer Asset Management

1984: Market Mood Monitor Release

In 1984, the Market Mood Monitor, eventually renamed The Technician, was released to help investors analyze and chart broad market conditions.

1985: MetaStock Release

In 1985, MetaStock, a proprietary computer program for charting and technical analysis of stock and asset prices, was originally released by Computer Asset Management.

April 1986: PC Magazine Editor's Choice Award

In April 1986, both MetaStock and The Technician received PC Magazine’s Editor’s Choice award.

1989: Computer Asset Management Renamed

In 1989, Computer Asset Management was renamed Equis International.

July 1992: MetaStock RT Release

In July 1992, MetaStock RT was released, offering real-time analysis of prices and receiving live quotes from Data Broadcasting’s Signal data feed.

1995: MetaStock 5.0 Release and Reuters DataLink Support

In 1995, MetaStock 5.0 was released for Microsoft Windows 3.1, and later that year, it added support for the Reuters DataLink end-of-day data feed.

1996: Reuters Acquires Equis International

In 1996, Reuters purchased Equis International and its MetaStock software.

2001: MetaStock for Reuters 3000 Xtra Platform

In 2001, MetaStock was released for the Reuters 3000 Xtra electronic trading platform.

June 2013: Thomson Reuters Sells MetaStock

In June 2013, Thomson Reuters sold MetaStock to Innovative Market Analysis.
