Avi Loeb is an Israeli-American theoretical physicist specializing in astrophysics and cosmology. He is the Frank B. Baird Jr. Professor of Science at Harvard University. He served as the chair of Harvard's Department of Astronomy from 2011 to 2020. Notably, he founded the Black Hole Initiative in 2016, demonstrating his commitment to advancing research in this area.
