CPS Energy is the municipal electric utility serving San Antonio, Texas, acquired by the city in 1942. It provides electricity to over 840,750 customers and natural gas to more than 352,585 customers within a 1,566-square-mile service area encompassing Bexar County and parts of its surrounding counties.
