Huissen is a city in the Netherlands, located in the province of Gelderland within the Betuwe region. Situated between Arnhem and Nijmegen, it lies along the Nederrijn and Linge rivers. Huissen is part of the Lingewaard municipality and has a population of 19,414.
In 2001, Huissen merged with the former municipalities of Bemmel and Gendt to form the municipality of Lingewaard.
In 2008, Dutch television personality Emile Ratelband purchased a mansion in Huissen and proposed a restoration plan to make it his home. However, the project was later cancelled.
In 2012, Emile Ratelband was arrested for attempting to set fire to the mansion in Huissen.
As of January 2020, the city of Huissen has a population of 19,414.
