League Bowling

League Bowling is a sports arcade game developed by SNK and released in 1990 for the Neo Geo console and arcade platforms. It distinguishes itself as the only bowling game available on the Neo Geo system. Players can choose characters and bowling balls ranging from 8 to 15 pounds.

1990: League Bowling Release

In 1990, SNK released League Bowling, a sports arcade game, for the Neo Geo console and arcade systems. In the game, players control characters with red and blue hair and select balls from 8 to 15 pounds. It is the only bowling game released on the Neo Geo.

February 1, 1991: League Bowling Popularity

On February 1, 1991, League Bowling was listed as the eighth most-popular arcade game in Japan by Game Machine. RePlay also reported the game as the twentieth most-popular arcade game at the time.

2002: League Bowling Port to Flash

In 2002, Tom Fulp, founder and CEO of Newgrounds, ported League Bowling to Flash. This port had no ball selection, only a regulation mode, fewer animations, and the same sprites for different players.

2010: NEOGEO Station Release

In 2010, SNK Playmore released the NEOGEO Station, which included an emulation of League Bowling and other Neo Geo games for the PlayStation 3 and the PSP.

July 2011: Virtual Console Release in Japan

In July 2011, League Bowling was released in Japan for the Virtual Console version on the Wii.
