Nathaniel David Rateliff is an American singer-songwriter known for his blend of folk, Americana, and vintage rhythm & blues. Based in Denver, Colorado, he fronts the R&B side project Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, formed in 2013. Rateliff has an established solo career with three studio albums, two EPs, and one album released as Nathaniel Rateliff & the Wheel.

On September 17, 2013, Rateliff released 'Falling Faster Than You Can Run' on Mod y Vi Records and began a tour with The Lumineers and Dr. Dog.
In 2013, Nathaniel Rateliff formed an R&B side project called the Night Sweats as a backing band.
In 2013, Rateliff, while continuing his other projects, started exploring a more upbeat, soulful sound with Joseph Pope III and others.
On June 24, 2015, the self-titled album 'Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats' was announced via Stax Records, with "S.O.B." as the lead single.
