Rematch

Rematch is a compilation album by Sammy Hagar, released in the US after he left Capitol Records for Geffen in 1981. It was created to capitalize on the success of Rick Springfield's hit song "I've Done Everything for You," which was written by Hagar. The album contains a collection of Hagar's songs and aimed to leverage the increased attention he received after Springfield's version of his song became popular.

1981: Release of Rematch compilation album

In 1981, after Sammy Hagar left Capitol Records for Geffen and Rick Springfield's success with "I've Done Everything for You", Capitol released "Rematch", the first US Sammy Hagar compilation album, to capitalize on the momentum.

1987: Re-release of Rematch on CD

In 1987, Capitol re-released the album as "Rematch And More" on CD, adding five tracks from the Capitol albums.
