Santos "Sandy" Alomar Sr. is a former Major League Baseball second baseman from Puerto Rico. He played for 14 seasons, known as a switch-hitter who threw right-handed. Most notably, he is the father of both former MLB catcher and current coach Sandy Alomar Jr., and Hall of Fame second baseman Roberto Alomar. His career and family's success have solidified his place in baseball history.
