Ssireum

Ssireum, also known as Korean wrestling, is a traditional national sport of Korea with origins dating back to the fourth century. It is a folk wrestling style with a rich history and cultural significance. Ssireum involves two wrestlers who grip a cloth belt (satba) wrapped around their waists and thighs. The objective is to use strength and technique to throw the opponent to the ground. Matches are typically held in a sandpit, and the first wrestler to have any part of their body above the knee touch the ground loses. Ssireum is more than just a sport, it's a cultural symbol celebrated during festivals and traditional events.
