Taipei

Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a special municipality situated in Northern Taiwan. It's an enclave within New Taipei City, positioned about 25 km southwest of Keelung. The city predominantly occupies the Taipei Basin, a former lakebed, bordered by the Keelung and Xindian rivers. These rivers converge to create the Tamsui River along Taipei's western edge.
