Tesla coil

A Tesla coil, invented by Nikola Tesla in 1891, is a resonant transformer circuit designed to generate high-voltage, low-current, and high-frequency alternating current electricity. Tesla experimented with various configurations, often employing two or three coupled resonant electric circuits. These coils are used in various applications, including entertainment displays, educational demonstrations, and research involving high-voltage phenomena.

2016: Teslaphoresis

In 2016, Rice University scientists used the field of a Tesla coil to remotely align tiny carbon nanotubes into a circuit, a process they named "teslaphoresis".
