Trace Gallagher is an American journalist and the current anchor of Fox News @ Night, a late-night news program on the Fox News Channel. He has been with Fox News for many years, covering a variety of news stories and events.


1979: High School Graduation

In 1979, Gallagher graduated from high school in Mammoth Lakes, California, where he played as a quarterback for the Mammoth Huskies football team.

2004: Reporting on Southeast Asian tsunami

In 2004, while at Fox, Gallagher reported on the Southeast Asian tsunami as a general assignment correspondent.

February 1, 2010: America Live replaces The Live Desk

On February 1, 2010, The Live Desk, which Gallagher co-anchored, was replaced by America Live with Megyn Kelly. Gallagher continued to anchor and report on Fox programs.

2020: Comments on "Defund the Police" policy

Since October 3, 2022, Gallagher has been hosting the Fox News @ Night program from the Fox Los Angeles studios.

2022: Dubious statements on COVID-19 misinformation

In July of 2022, Gallagher was cited for making dubious statements, including saying that COVID-19 misinformation banned on social media "all turned out to be accurate", which was a major mischaracterization.
