In 2013, Tyler Childers recorded two EPs at Red Barn Radio in Lexington. These EPs were later released as one recording called Live on Red Barn Radio I & II after the success of Purgatory.
In 2015, Tyler Childers married Senora May, a fellow performer and Kentucky native.
On August 4, 2017, Tyler Childers released his album Purgatory, produced by Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson. It achieved significant chart success, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart.
