USS Stockdale (DDG-106) is a United States Navy Arleigh Burke-class Aegis guided missile destroyer named after Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale. Authorized in 2002, it was built by Bath Iron Works and christened on May 10, 2008, by Stockdale's widow, Sybil. The ship was delivered to the Navy on September 30, 2008, and commissioned on April 18, 2009, at Port Hueneme. Notably, Admiral Stockdale's youngest son and grandchildren joined the ship during its transit through the Panama Canal in March 2009.
