Alex Delvecchio, nicknamed "Fats", was a Canadian ice hockey legend who played his entire NHL career (1951-1973) with the Detroit Red Wings. A skilled player known for his sportsmanship, he amassed 1,281 points in 1,549 games and won three Stanley Cups. Delvecchio earned the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy three times, showcasing his gentlemanly conduct. Upon retirement, he became the Red Wings' coach and general manager from 1973 to 1977. A Hockey Hall of Fame inductee in 1977, he was also named one of the NHL's 100 greatest players in 2017. His loyalty to the Red Wings and remarkable career solidified his place in hockey history.
