Andrew Young

Andrew Young is an American politician, diplomat, and activist prominent in the civil rights movement. As a close associate of Martin Luther King Jr., he served as executive director of the SCLC. Transitioning to politics, Young became a U.S. Congressman from Georgia, notably as the first African American elected to Congress from Georgia since Reconstruction. He also served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations and later as the Mayor of Atlanta. Post-political career, Young has been involved in numerous organizations focused on public policy and political advocacy.
