History of Asante Samuel in Timeline
Asante Samuel Sr. is a former American NFL cornerback, born in Ghana and raised in Florida. He played college football for UCF and was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2003. Samuel also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons. He twice led the NFL in interceptions (2006, 2009) and is regarded as one of the Patriots' greatest players. His son, Asante Samuel Jr., also plays cornerback in the NFL.
