Amanda Nunes is a retired Brazilian mixed martial artist. She is most known for her time in the UFC. She is the former UFC Women's Featherweight Champion. She is also a two-time UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion. When she retired, she was the #1 ranked pound-for-pound women's fighter in the UFC.

On March 8, 2008, Amanda Nunes made her professional mixed martial arts debut at Prime MMA Championship 2 against Ana Maria. She lost the fight via armbar submission in the first round.
In 2008, Nunes won a gold medal at the Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championship as a blue belt.
Nunes earned a gold medal at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in 2009 as a purple belt.
On January 7, 2011, Nunes made her Strikeforce debut at Strikeforce Challengers: Woodley vs. Saffiedine. She defeated Julia Budd by knockout in 14 seconds.
