Austin Western Railroad

The Austin Western Railroad (AWRR) is a Class III short-line railroad based in Round Rock, Texas, and a subsidiary of Watco. It operates on 126 miles of trackage owned by Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, running from Fairland to Giddings, Texas, with a branch line to Marble Falls. A 28-mile section between Fairland and Llano, known as the Austin and Northwestern Railroad Historic District, is currently out of service since 2005.
