Benjamin Hall, 1st Baron Llanover

Benjamin Hall, 1st Baron Llanover, was a prominent Whig/Liberal politician who significantly contributed to social, church, health, and local government reforms. He served in the House of Commons from 1831 until 1859, later being elevated to the peerage. As President of the Board of Health (1854-1855) and First Commissioner of Public Works (until 1858), he held significant ministerial positions under Lords Aberdeen and Palmerston. Llanover was also a member of the Privy Council and served in the House of Lords from 1859 until his death in 1867, solidifying his legacy as an influential figure in 19th-century British politics and reform.
