FAP Basketball, or FAP Yaoundé, is a Cameroonian basketball team representing the armed forces and police. Competing in the Elite Messieurs domestically, they've achieved success with four national championships, two Cameroon Cup wins, and five Central Region League Championships. They previously participated in the Basketball Africa League (BAL), showcasing their talent on a continental stage.
1972: Club Establishment
In 1972, the FAP basketball club was established in Yaoundé.
2009: Construction of Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex
In 2009, the Yaoundé Multipurpose Sports Complex, the home arena of FAP Basketball, was built.
November 2019: BAL Qualifying Tournament
In November 2019, FAP entered the qualifying tournaments for the newly established Basketball Africa League (BAL), representing Cameroon as runners-up after Condor BC refused its invitation.
2020: Elite Messieurs Title
In 2020, FAP won its first silverware by winning the Elite Messieurs title, going unbeaten in the Final Four tournament with a 6–0 record.
May 2021: Lazare Adingono Signed as Head Coach
In May 2021, ahead of the inaugural BAL season, FAP signed Lazare Adingono as head coach.
2022: 2022 BAL Season
In the 2022 BAL season, FAP finished in fourth place after eliminating the favored Rwandan hosts REG in the quarter-finals but losing the third place game to Zamalek.
