Frankie Beverly was an American singer, songwriter, and producer, renowned for his work with the soul and funk band Maze. He founded Maze, initially known as Raw Soul, in Philadelphia in 1970. After moving to San Francisco and meeting Marvin Gaye, Maze released nine Gold albums and built a dedicated fan base. Beverly served as the band's writer, producer, and lead singer, recognized for his smooth baritone voice and captivating stage presence.
