Islamabad is the capital city of Pakistan, established in 1967 to replace Karachi. It's the tenth-most populous city in Pakistan, with over 1.1 million residents. Islamabad is administered federally as part of the Islamabad Capital Territory and was built as a planned city in the 1960s.
