John Luman "Jack" Smith is an American attorney with a distinguished career in law enforcement and international justice. He has held various positions within the U.S. Department of Justice, including Assistant U.S. Attorney, Acting U.S. Attorney, and head of the Public Integrity Section, focusing on prosecuting corruption and white-collar crime. He also served as the chief prosecutor at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, investigating and prosecuting war crimes related to the Kosovo War. Most recently, he was a Special Counsel for the Department of Justice from November 18, 2022 until his resignation on January 10, 2025.
