Jagdeep Dhankhar is an Indian politician and lawyer who currently serves as the Vice President of India since 2022. Prior to this role, he was the Governor of West Bengal from 2019 to 2022. Dhankhar's political career includes serving as a Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs (1990-1991), a member of Lok Sabha (1989-1991), and a member of Rajasthan's Legislative Assembly (1993-1998). Throughout his career, he has been associated with prominent Indian political parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Indian National Congress (INC), and the Janata Dal (JD).
