John F. Kennedy Jr., son of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy, was an American attorney, magazine publisher, and journalist. Nicknamed "John-John" by the press, he grew up under intense public scrutiny. After graduating from law school, he worked as a prosecutor and later founded the magazine *George*, which covered politics and popular culture. His life and career were tragically cut short when he, along with his wife Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and her sister Lauren Bessette, died in a plane crash in 1999.
