History of Liga Portugal 2 in Timeline
Liga Portugal 2 is the second-highest division in Portuguese football. The top two teams at the end of each season are promoted to Liga Portugal, the top-tier league. Conversely, the two lowest-ranked teams face relegation to Liga 3, the third tier. Before the 2021-22 season, relegation was to Campeonato de Portugal. The league is also known as Liga Portugal Meu Super due to sponsorship.
