Lleyton Hewitt is a retired Australian professional tennis player who achieved the world No. 1 ranking and held it for 80 weeks. Hewitt secured two Grand Slam singles titles, winning the 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon Championships. He also won the 2000 US Open in doubles. Hewitt led Australia to Davis Cup victories in 1999 and 2003 and won the Tennis Masters Cup twice. In 2001, he became the youngest player to reach the world No. 1 ranking. He was a runner-up at the 2004 US Open and 2005 Australian Open, and remains the most recent Australian male to win a singles major.
