Manon is a five-act opéra comique by Jules Massenet, with a French libretto by Henri Meilhac and Philippe Gille. The opera is based on Abbé Prévost's 1731 novel, L'histoire du chevalier des Grieux et de Manon Lescaut. It premiered at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on January 19, 1884, featuring stage designs by Eugène Carpezat, Auguste Alfred Rubé, and Jean-Baptiste Lavastre.
