NU Rock Awards

The NU Rock Awards was an annual event held from 1994 to 2010 by Metro Manila's NU 107 radio station. It celebrated and showcased performances from influential Filipino rock artists each year, recognizing their contributions to the Pinoy rock scene.

November 15, 1994: First NU 107 Rock Awards

On November 15, 1994, the first NU 107 Rock Awards took place at The Music Hall in Annapolis St., Greenhills. Pepe Smith received the Rock Legend Award, and The Dawn was honored with the Rock Achievement Award.

1994: NU Rock Awards Established

In 1994, the NU Rock Awards was established by Metro Manila-based radio station NU 107. The awards aimed to recognize and showcase prominent performances by the most influential Pinoy rock artists each year.

1995: Alamid wins first Song of the Year

In 1995, Alamid won the first "Song of the Year Award" for "Your Love." Afterimage won Artist of the Year, and Eraserheads won Album of the Year with Ultraelectromagneticpop!.

1996: Parokya Ni Edgar wins Best New Artist

In 1996, Pambansang Banda ng Pilipinas Parokya Ni Edgar won "Best New Artists."

1996: Eraserheads win Album of the Year again

In 1996, the Eraserheads received the Album of the Year award for their album Circus, marking their second consecutive win in the category.

1997: New Category Added

In 1997, the "Producer of the Year" category was added to the Rock Awards.

1999: Tie for Album of the Year

In 1999, there was a tie for Album of the Year at the Rock Awards, with Wolfgang's Serve in Silence and Sandwich's Grip Stand Throw sharing the award.

2000: Punk's Not Dead Performance

In 2000, Punk's Not Dead, an all-star tribute band, performed a medley of past Song of the Year winners in The Ramones style at the Rock Awards.

2003: Bamboo performs "Noypi"

In 2003, Bamboo's "Noypi" was first performed at the NU 107 Rock Awards, prior to the release of their album As The Music Plays.

2004: Best attended Rock Awards ceremony

2004: First Female Rock Icon Award

In 2010, the NU Rock Awards, an annual accolade presented by radio station NU 107 since 1994, held its final event.
