Ngada Regency

Ngada Regency is located on Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. It's bordered by East Manggarai and Nagekeo Regencies, with the Flores Sea to the north and Sawu Sea to the south. Covering 1,620.92 km2, Ngada had a population of 165,254 in 2020, with a 2023 estimate of 171,174. Bajawa serves as its capital.

1958: Formation of Ngada Regency

In 1958, Ngada Regency was formed as one of the older regencies in East Nusa Tenggara.

1968: Fossil Discovery in Soa Valley

In 1968, stegodon fossils and stone artifacts were found in the Soa Valley north of Bajawa.

1991: Excavations in Soa Valley
