Nik Lewis is a former American professional slotback who played 15 years in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He's a two-time Grey Cup champion (2008 & 2014 with the Stampeders). Lewis won the CFL Rookie of the Year award in his first season. He's a five-time West Division All-Star and three-time CFL All-Star. He holds the Stampeders' record for consecutive games with a reception (166). Lewis is second all-time as a Stampeder in receptions (805), receiving yards (11,250), and touchdown catches (65), only second to Allen Pitts. He also became the CFL all-time leader in receptions with 1,030 catches on August 24, 2017.
VCU guard Nyk Lewis suffered a severe ankle injury within the first minute of the NCAA tournament game against Illinois, forcing him to exit the game. His condition is currently unknown.

In 2003, Nik Lewis was named an NCAA Division II All-American while attending Southern Arkansas University.

In 2006, Nik Lewis was named to the 2006 CFL Western Division All-Star team after posting 77 receptions, 1,114 receiving yards and five touchdowns with the Stampeders.
The 2007 CFL season saw Nik Lewis achieve 67 receptions, 1,101 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns. Nik Lewis was again a CFL Western Division All-Star.
In 2008, Nik Lewis won a Grey Cup championship with the Stampeders.
In 2009, Nik Lewis had another 1,000-yard season and scored his first and only touchdown of the season in the 17th game. He also maintained a streak of catching a pass in all 105 games he played in.

In 2012, Nik Lewis sent out an inappropriate Tweet referencing OJ Simpson and was subsequently fined by the CFL for violating its social media policy. He apologized and donated his next game's paycheque to a women's charity. He also finished the season with over 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns.
In 2012, Nik Lewis was voted "Toughest to Bring Down" in a poll of over 250 CFL players, receiving 35% of the votes. He also ranked high in categories such as "Toughest Player", "Best Hands", and "Best Clutch Performer".
Nik Lewis's last 1,000 yard season before 2016 occurred in 2012.
During Week 8 of the 2013 CFL season, Nik Lewis suffered a fractured fibula after being tackled by BC linebacker Solomon Elimimian, causing him to miss the rest of the season and ending his 1,000-yard receiving streak.
In 2014, Nik Lewis had a diminished role, and his consecutive games with a catch streak was snapped. Despite a challenging season, Lewis helped the Stampeders win the 102nd Grey Cup.
On February 10, 2015, after 11 seasons with the Stamps, Nik Lewis became a free agent after not being re-signed following the 2014 season.
In 2016, Nik Lewis had a resurgent year with the Alouettes, achieving his tenth 1,000 yard season of his career, and his first since 2012. He led the team with 102 receptions and 1,136 yards receiving.
On August 24, 2017, Nik Lewis became the CFL all-time leader in receptions with 1,030 catches.
On October 27, 2017, Nik Lewis told Lee Jones of TSN that he had played his last game after his Alouettes fell to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
On May 17, 2018, Nik Lewis officially announced his retirement from professional football.
At 34 years of age the Alouettes and Nik Lewis agreed to a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the club through the 2018 season.
In 2019, Nik Lewis served as the running backs coach for the BC Lions.
In 2021, Nik Lewis was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame as a player, solidifying his legacy.
On January 3, 2023, Nik Lewis was hired as the receivers coach for the Calgary Stampeders, a role he held for two seasons.
