Pat Connaughton is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. He primarily plays as a shooting guard. Known for his athleticism and shooting ability, Connaughton contributes to the Bucks' performance. He has become a valued role player in the league, contributing to the Bucks' success.

In 2011, during his senior year, Connaughton was named the Gatorade Massachusetts Boys Basketball Player of the Year. He also had an impressive baseball record as a pitcher, but decided to attend college.
In 2012, as a freshman at Notre Dame, Connaughton appeared in all 34 games for the basketball team and played in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, where they lost to Xavier University in the second round.
In 2013, during his sophomore year, Connaughton averaged 8.9 points per game for the basketball team and had a 1.71 ERA for the baseball team. He also played summer baseball for the Harwich Mariners.
In July 2014, Connaughton made his professional baseball debut with the Aberdeen IronBirds, registering a 96 miles per hour fastball. He then returned to the Fighting Irish basketball team.
In 2014, Connaughton was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the fourth round of the MLB Draft. He agreed to terms with the Orioles, receiving a signing bonus of over $400,000, with the condition that he could still play basketball for Notre Dame in his senior year.
On October 30, 2015, Connaughton made his NBA debut for the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring five points in a game against the Phoenix Suns. He appeared in 34 games as a rookie.
In 2015, Notre Dame's basketball team, including Connaughton as a senior, won its first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) championship. He narrowly lost a tournament game against Kentucky for a Final Four berth. He also graduated from Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.

Through 2020, the Baltimore Orioles maintained contractual baseball rights to Connaughton. Because they did not add him to their major league roster, he would be free to sign with any team if he returned to baseball.
On July 20, 2021, Connaughton won his first NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks. In the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns, he averaged 9.2 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 44.1% from three-point range in six games.
On November 10, 2021, Connaughton scored a season-high 23 points and made a career-high seven three-point shots during a 112–100 win over the New York Knicks.
On February 14, 2022, Connaughton underwent right hand surgery and was ruled out for at least a month.
