Roseanne Barr, known mononymously as Roseanne, is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She started as a stand-up comedian and gained widespread recognition for her role in the television sitcom *Roseanne*. Her performance on the show earned her both an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
In July 2009, Roseanne Barr faced criticism after posing as Adolf Hitler in a satirical piece called "That Oven Feelin'" for Heeb magazine. The images included a Hitler mustache, swastika armband, and burnt gingerbread man cookies referred to as "burnt Jew cookies". The magazine and Barr defended the photos as satire, but Bill O'Reilly and others criticized her for mocking the Holocaust.
On February 14, 2011, Roseanne Barr and her mother, Geraldine, appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show where Roseanne admitted that her word "incest" could have been wrong. On August 5, 2011, Roseanne Barr announced her candidacy for president in the 2012 presidential election on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She was running on the self-created "Green Tea Party" ticket, focusing on economics, personal health, and meditation.
In January 2012, Roseanne Barr filed with the Federal Election Commission as a Green Party presidential candidate. She formally announced her candidacy for the party's presidential nomination on February 2.

In August 2015, summary judgment was granted in favor of Roseanne Barr in a lawsuit filed by the parents of George Zimmerman. The suit stemmed from Barr tweeting their home address and phone number in 2012, after Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin.
In a June 2016 Hollywood Reporter interview, Roseanne Barr voiced her support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, stating, "I think we would be so lucky if Trump won. Because then it wouldn't be Hillary."
In July 2016, a CNN story reported that Roseanne Barr stated she did not endorse Donald Trump, claiming she only supports herself for president, stating, "I will be writing myself in in every election from now until I win."
In March 2018, Roseanne Barr retweeted a false claim by QAnon conspiracy theorist Liz Crokin that Donald Trump had saved hundreds of children from sex traffickers during his first month in office, as well as similar misinformation about child trafficking. Barr later deleted her tweets.
In March 2018, the revival of Roseanne Barr's show caused the photos from her July 2009 appearance in Heeb magazine to resurface on social media, renewing mentions of the incident in publications like The Forward and the Los Angeles Times.
In late March 2018, Roseanne Barr tweeted about a conspiracy theory involving David Hogg, a survivor of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida. The false theory claimed Hogg gave a Nazi salute at a March for Our Lives rally on March 24. Barr later deleted the tweet.
In May 2018, Roseanne Barr defended her support for Donald Trump on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In 2023, Roseanne Barr appeared on Theo Von's podcast This Past Weekend, discussing topics ranging from Donald Trump's election fraud claims to the Jewish community. Barr stated that Trump's claims were false. She also appeared to sarcastically deny the Holocaust, which sparked controversy. The podcast episode was subsequently removed from YouTube for violating hate speech policies.
On January 17, 2025, Roseanne Barr is featured in rapper Tom MacDonald's single "Daddy's Home". Barr's verse includes the lyrics "Screw Eminem" and "Why they trying to turn Becky into Dan?", referencing characters in her shows.
