In 2013, at age 18, Rakhmonov became the WMMAA World Champion in amateur MMA.
Shavkat Rakhmonov began his professional MMA career in October 2014 with a win against Adam Tsurov at M-1 Challenge 52.
Rakhmonov won the WMMAA Asian Championship and was runner-up in the World Championship in 2014.
In 2015, Rakhmonov again finished as runner-up in the WMMAA World Championship.
