Stranger Things (Yuck album)

Stranger Things is the third and final album by the indie rock band Yuck, released in February 2016. Frontman Max Bloom produced the album throughout 2015 at his parents' home in London. Three singles, "Hold Me Closer," "Hearts in Motion," and "Cannonball," were released to promote the album.

2011: Debut Album Recording Location

The band recorded the album in London primarily in Bloom's parents' house where Yuck had previously recorded its 2011 self-titled debut album.

April 2013: Daniel Blumberg leaves Yuck

In April 2013, Daniel Blumberg, the original lead singer and guitarist, left the band Yuck. Max Bloom then took over as frontman.

September 2013: Glow & Behold Album Release

On September 30, 2013, Yuck released their sophomore studio album, Glow & Behold, on Fat Possum Records.

April 2014: Southern Skies EP Self-Release

In April 2014, the band Yuck self-released the Southern Skies EP.

January 2016: Album Announcement, Single Release, and Tour Announcement

On January 12, 2016, Yuck announced their album title as Stranger Things and the release date as February 26. They also revealed the album artwork, released the single "Hearts in Motion", and announced a North American spring tour. Three days later, the band posted a video announcing pre-orders for the album on its official YouTube channel.

February 2016: Album Streaming, Live Performance, and Tour Announcement

On February 17, 2016, about a week before its official release, the album Stranger Things became available for streaming via NPR. The previous day, Yuck uploaded a live performance of "Hearts in Motion". The band also announced spring tour dates in the United Kingdom and uploaded a short promotional comedic video on YouTube.
