Trey Sweeney is an American professional baseball shortstop currently playing for the Detroit Tigers in MLB. He played college baseball for Eastern Illinois University before being drafted by the New York Yankees in the first round of the 2021 MLB draft. Sweeney was later traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023, and then to the Detroit Tigers in 2024, where he made his major league debut. His career is relatively young, beginning with the MLB debut in 2024.
