Tricia McLaughlin is an American visual artist based in New York City. Her art encompasses animation, sculpture, and painting, frequently exploring themes of fantastic or impossible architecture and its impact on potential inhabitants. McLaughlin's work has been showcased extensively in the US and internationally, including exhibitions in the UK, Spain, Germany, Cyprus, South Korea, and Japan. She is a recipient of prestigious grants from the Guggenheim Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts.

In 1987, Tricia McLaughlin was assigned to Uvita de Osa in Costa Rica as part of the Peace Corps' Women in Development program.
In 1989, Tricia McLaughlin completed her Peace Corps assignment in Uvita de Osa, Costa Rica, where she supervised programs and started the area's first women's futbol league.
In 1992, Tricia McLaughlin attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine, on a fellowship.
In 2000, Tricia McLaughlin earned her MFA from Hunter College and attended a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts.
