UFC rankings

UFC rankings, established in February 2013, are determined by a media panel who vote for the top fighters in each weight class and a pound-for-pound list. Only active UFC fighters are eligible. Fighters can be ranked in multiple weight divisions. Champions and interim champions are considered top-ranked in their division and are not eligible for voting in the weight class rankings, but they can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.

February 2013: Introduction of UFC Rankings

In February 2013, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) introduced its official fighter rankings. These rankings are determined by a voting panel of media members who assess and vote for the top fighters in each weight class and in a pound-for-pound ranking. Only active UFC fighters are eligible for voting, and fighters can be ranked in multiple weight divisions. Champions and interim champions are excluded from voting within their weight classes but can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.
