Weak Hero Class 1 is a South Korean television series based on the webtoon Weak Hero by Seopass and Kim Jin-seok (Razen). Directed by Yoo Soo-min, Kim Jin-seok, and Park Dan-hee, it stars Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung. The first three episodes premiered at the 27th Busan International Film Festival in October 2022, and the first season was released on Wavve in November 2022.
In 2004, Kwon Sang-woo's film, Once Upon a Time in High School, inspired Park Ji-hoon. The climax at the end of Episode 8 is a direct homage to the final scene in the latter.
In 2010, Won Bin's performance in The Man from Nowhere inspired Park Ji-hoon in creating the gloomy and cold atmosphere of his character.
In 2018, the Naver webtoon Weak Hero by Seopass and Kim Jin-seok (Razen) was published, which served as the basis for the Weak Hero Class 1 television series.
In May 2021, Jaedam Media announced that they had reached an agreement with Playlist to co-produce a drama adaptation of the popular Naver webtoon, Weak Hero.
