In 1991, weekly stock car racing was introduced at the Afton racetrack, which had previously been used for horse racing and motorcycle racing.

2009: Dave and Joanne Rocket Become Promoters

In 2009, Dave and Joanne Rocket from Bethel Motor Speedway became the promoters of the Afton racetrack after it had been dormant for two years.

2010: Jaime and Denise Page Take Over Operations and Rename Facility

In 2010, Jaime and Denise Page took over operations of the racetrack and renamed it I-88 Speedway to reflect the nearby interstate.
