Aircraft carrier

An aircraft carrier is a warship designed as a seagoing airbase, featuring a full-length flight deck and hangar for aircraft operations. It serves as a fleet's capital ship, enabling naval forces to project air power far from their home country without reliance on local airfields. Evolving from early 20th-century wooden vessels deploying reconnaissance balloons, modern carriers are often nuclear-powered supercarriers hosting numerous fighters, strike aircraft, helicopters, and other aircraft including UCAVs. While larger fixed-wing aircraft can be launched, landing on carriers is often limited due to flight deck constraints.
