Ateez

Ateez is an eight-member South Korean boy band formed by KQ Entertainment. The members are Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. They debuted on October 24, 2018, with their first extended play, Treasure EP.1: All to Zero.

2017: Mix Nine Competition

In late 2017, Hongjoong, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho participated in the survival reality show Mix Nine.

May 18, 2018: KQ Fellaz Performance Video Release

On May 18, 2018, KQ Entertainment released "KQ Fellaz Performance Video I" on YouTube, featuring all eight Ateez members dancing to "Pick It Up" by Famous Dex.

July 3, 2018: Ateez Official Name Reveal

On July 3, 2018, KQ Entertainment revealed the official name of the group as Ateez, short for "A TEEnager Z," symbolizing the group's goal to represent everything about teenagers.

October 24, 2018: Ateez Debut with Treasure EP.1: All to Zero

2019: Hongjoong raises awareness for Polished Man

In 2019, Ateez member Hongjoong raised awareness for the Polished Man campaign since Ateez's debut by painting one of his nails, leading fans to set up fundraising pages on Polished Man's website to raise hundreds of dollars in early 2020.

2019: Mnet Asian Music Awards Win

In 2019, Ateez won the Worldwide Fans' Choice at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.

2019: Best Korean Act at the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards

On November 3, 2019, Ateez was awarded the Best Korean Act award at the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards.

January 6, 2020: Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer Release

On January 6, 2020, Ateez released their fourth EP, Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer, as the conclusion to their Treasure series, along with a music video for the lead single "Answer".

May 8, 2020: Ateez Appointed as Ambassador for Korean Culture and Tourism

On May 8, 2020, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism named Ateez as its ambassador to help promote Korean culture and tourism abroad.

August 31, 2020: Mingi and Yeosang participate in Star Bookstore relay donation campaign

On August 31, 2020, Ateez members Mingi and Yeosang participated in Star Bookstore, a relay donation campaign where celebrities read books to children. The audiobooks recorded surpassed 10,000 views within a day, leading to a donation of ₩2 million from Happy Bean.

2020: MAMA Awards and Kingdom: Legendary War Announcement

At the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards, Ateez won the Worldwide Fans' Choice and Discovery of the Year awards, and it was announced they would join Kingdom: Legendary War.

2020: "Dreamers" Release and Collaboration Announcements

During 2020, Ateez released their first Japanese single "Dreamers", which served as the fifth ending theme for the anime series Digimon Adventure. They announced a collaboration album with Kim Jong-kook and a collaboration with Pentatonix on the single "A Little Space".

2020: Zero: Fever Part.1 Release and Awards

In 2020, due to COVID-19 restrictions, Ateez hosted a free, virtual concert called "Crescent Party" on the V Live app, with over 1.4 million viewers. On June 26, 2020, they also performed at KCON:TACT 2020.

2020: Immortal Songs Year-End Finale Invitation and Twitter Popularity

On December 19, 2020, Ateez was invited to the Immortal Songs year-end finale and performed "Anyhow Song" by Seo Taiji and Boys. They were also ranked among the most tweeted-about musicians in the United States.

On May 15, 2021, Ateez appeared on Identity 2021, a live stream fundraiser hosted by Amazon Music in honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. The campaign raised over $20,000.

July 2021: Funds raised for Polished Man exceed $30,000

As of July 2021, the funds raised through Ateez's partnership with Polished Man have exceeded $30,000.

February 3, 2022: Ateez Collaboration with Poshmark

On February 3, 2022, Ateez collaborated with the online fashion store Poshmark.

November 2022: Ateez donates to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association

In November 2022, Ateez donated ₩100 million to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association using profits from their concerts to support those affected by the Seoul Halloween crowd crush.

2022: The Fellowship: Break The Wall World Tour

Ateez opened their second world tour of the year, The Fellowship: Break The Wall, with two sold-out concerts in Seoul on October 29 and 30, 2022. They embarked on the North American leg, comprising eleven shows and closed the 2022 part of the tour with two shows in Chiba, Japan.

2022: Asian Concerts and The Fact Music Awards

During September and October 2022, Ateez performed in joint concerts across Asia. On October 8, 2022, Ateez received the Artist of the Year Bonsang and the Best Performer award at The Fact Music Awards.

2022: KCON 2022 LA Performance and Idol Radio Season 3 DJs

On August 22, 2022, Ateez performed at KCON 2022 LA. On September 8, 2022, it was announced that Hongjoong and Yunho would be DJs for MBC Radio's Idol Radio Season 3.

2022: Jeddah K-pop Festival and UNI-KON 2022 Performances

On June 30, 2022, Ateez performed at the Jeddah K-pop Festival in Saudi Arabia. On July 3, 2022, they closed the second day of UNI-KON 2022 in Seoul.

2022: The Fellowship: Beginning of the End World Tour Announcement

On November 14, 2021, during Ateez's virtual concert "Fever: eXendtion edition", it was announced that the group's third world tour, The Fellowship: Beginning of the End, would be held in 2022. The tour was scheduled to begin with three dates in Seoul in early January and proceed to five cities in the US and conclude in Europe.

March 2023: San donates to his hometown Namhae

In March 2023, Ateez member San donated ₩5 million to his hometown Namhae through the Hometown Love Donation Program. He also donated Hanwoo beef sets valued at ₩1.5 million to single-parent households in Namhae.

2023: Performances and Encore Concerts

Between April and May 2023, Ateez performed in multiple events such as the Lovesome Festival in Seoul, the K-POP Super Live at Seoul Festa, the Dance Day Live in Tokyo, and KCON Japan. They also carried out six encore concerts out of the Fellowship: Break The Wall tour in Seoul, Tokyo and Chiba.

2023: MAMA Worldwide Fans' Choice Award

In 2023, Ateez secured the Worldwide Fans' Choice award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards.

January 5, 2024: Ateez selected as brand model for Nacific

On January 5, 2024, Ateez was chosen by the cosmetics brand Nacific to be their brand model.

January 2024: Towards the Light: Will to Power Concert Film

Ateez released the concert film, Towards the Light: Will to Power, showcasing their January 2024 performance at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul. The film was screened across Asia, North America, Europe, and other countries.

2024: Coachella and Mawazine Music Festival Performances

In 2024, Ateez made history as the first K-pop boy group to perform at Coachella and the first K-pop group to headline the Mawazine music festival in Morocco.

January 2025: Ateez Discography Update

As of January 2025, Ateez had released eleven EPs, four studio albums, twenty-four singles, and one single album in Korean, along with two single albums, three EPs, and two studio albums in Japanese. Multiple albums achieved top positions on the South Korean Circle Album Chart, with some certified platinum or million-selling.

March 28, 2025: Ateez donates to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association

On March 28, 2025, it was announced that Ateez had donated ₩100 million to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to help with the recovery of wildfire stricken areas.

July 3, 2025: Ateez selected as new model for BRMUD

On July 3, 2025, Ateez was selected as the new model for the Korean mud skincare brand BRMUD.

2025: Runway Debut and iHeartRadio Award

In March 2025, Seonghwa made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week for Isabel Marant. On March 18, 2025, Ateez won iHeartRadio's K-Pop Artist of the Year award.
